The Train that Never Stops

This video was posted over the weekend and the concept is quite fascinating.  The idea, dubbed a non-stop MRT system by its inventor, Peng Yu-lun, would enable rail to continue moving at all points along its route without completely stopping to take-on new passengers.    One can’t help but wonder, though, about the costs associated with such a project.  New infrastructure, a redesign of train cars to accommodate for additional weight, and safety enhancements to allow for a moving train to latch and unlatch whole compartments of people are just a few issues to consider.  It’s still a developmental idea, but it sounds promising. Yes? No?
